NEW - The King’s Cemetery

Tucked away in a peaceful, green and leafy corner, the ancient cemetery of Plainpalais is a last resting place for a Geneva ‘Pantheon’ of personalities, both local and international whose legacy, deeds or simply ‘being’ influenced our city from the 15th century to the present day. Its name suggests exclusion, but this refuge of repose is ‘open to all’, its serene 'park' decorated with majestic trees, many with a special significance. During our walk through this 'off beat' part of Geneva, we will discover more about the area from the Parc des Bastions to Plainpalais and the Quartier des Bains and learn about the ancient traditions which gave the cemetery its name.

Start:
Entrance to the Parc des Bastions by the gates opposite the Grand Theatre,
Place de Neuve, 1204 Geneva

End:
Cimetière des Rois
Rue des Rois,1204 Geneva
